Gerald Henry Hykes

HYKES, Gerald H., 69, of Henrico, passed away on July 2, 2019. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald G. Hykes; son, Gerald S. Hykes; and great-granddaughter, Alayaha. He is survived by his wife, Patty Hykes; children, Roanna Hoff of Ohio, April Kelly (Butch) of Hanover, Brandy Worsham (Bruce) of Sandston; grandchildren, Tony, Haley, McKenzie, Memphis, Sarah, Trae, Trevor, Kaylin, Abby, Cody, Joey, Shannon, Jessica; and 6 great-grandchildren. Jerry was a self-employed Private Investigator and also a proud Marine who served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Navy Presidential Unit Citation Military Ribbon, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Military Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Military Ribbon, and the Combat Action Military Ribbon. Jerry will be remembered for his love of VFW, motorcycles, fishing, and hunting. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va 23231.
