Gleason Frederick Dale

Rev. Gleason F. Dale, 91, of Hopewell, finished his course on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was a retired Ordained Bishop with the Church of God and was a member of City Point Restoration Church of God. Rev. Dale served as a pastor for 20 years in West Virginia, chaplain for John Randolph Medical Center for 15 years and nursing home minister for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Dale; daughters, Donna Gay Dale, Gloria Deel and Jean Moore; sisters, Carrie McCartney and Maxie Sizemore; and brothers, Mathew Dale and Leason Dale. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda C. Dale; children, Jim Dale (Sheila) and Marian Jenkins (Richard); grandchildren, Scott and Brian Dale, Jason Moore, Jennifer Myers, Tammy and Denise Jenkins, Shawn and Shane Deel, and Cassie Cooper; and a number of great and great- great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at City Point Restoration Church of God, 2300 Bluefield St., Hopewell, VA 23860 where services will be held Wednesday, March 29, at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
