

Hazel May Sadler, 81, of Charles City, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, George Melvin Sadler; mother, Hattie Lee Kelley; father, Purcell Rufee Sprouse. Hazel was a retired production operator for Philip Morris, where she was employed for over 30 years. She loved cats, gardening, the lottery, casinos, and reading. Hazel also loved Joel Osteen, NASCAR, game shows, especially "The Price is Right." She was an excellent cook and loved to host family dinners. Hazel loved her family and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor. Hazel is survived by her sons, George Michael Sadler (Debbie) and Paul Andrew Sadler (Shelia); daughter, Judy Sadler Pulliam; grandchildren, Jon Michael Sadler, Georgia Pulliam, Melissa Sampery, Samantha Sadler, Kathryn Sadler and Robert Sadler; great-grandchildren, Devin Pulliam, Michael Sampery Jr., Alexis Sadler, and Arianna Sadler. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, Va. 23231.
