John Allen Watkins

He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Watkins Sr.; mother, Marie E. Watkins; sisters, Linda W. Miller, Patricia W. Rhodes; brother, James C. Watkins Jr.; and nephew, Michael W. Adkins-Diggs.

John was a graduate of Charles City High School. He worked all across the U.S. collecting soil samples, drilling wells, and locating fault lines for multiple drilling companies. John was a long-time member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Charles City. He enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends, going hunting, and fishing. John was a self-taught musician who loved all types of music and played the guitar beautifully. He loved all animals and had a special pitbull name Pup Pup.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lisa M. Watkins; sisters, Carolyn W. Hayden, Lorraine W. Jackson, Gloria Watkins; brother, Jeffrey Watkins; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Affinity Care of Virginia and Cornerstone Support Services, especially his caregiver, Darrell Ramsey, for their care and support.
