Beloved Family and Friends, I only met Joyce through the telephone multiple times, and through her tough times, I could hear the smile upon her face when she spoke of her Worship Family and those connected to her.. Joyce was a giver to many and her rewards will be great in God's Kingdom. As you unfold the blessed memories of yesterday, may you smile like Joyce between the tears. Joyce loved her family and extended Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Joyce was a lover, giver, caring, and sharing Women, and one after God's own heart. Joyously/wrh (Great-Great Auntie to Cheyenne.)

Dear Bunny, Brenda, Wayne and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. She was a great woman. Always there for Mom (Terry Via) and our family when Daddy passed and again when
Mom passed. She was like an adopted mom to me. Helping with my wedding and
making my dress for me. I 'm sure Mom and her are in heaven making cakes and doing crafts together again.

Bunny, Brenda and Wayne and the rest of the family. We have prayers for each and everyone of you. Rita has a special place in each of the hearts of the lives she touched. I hope it brings you comfort knowing that our thoughts are with each of you during the time that Rita has been united with Jesus her father and that she is healed and not suffering. I love each of you and if you need anything be sure to call me or Diane. We are there for all of you. Rita held our family together at the reunions. She is a awesome soul. We love you all.

When thinking of Joyce, it is impossible to count all the ways she touched the community.  When I think of the years I saw her at church, there was always a project she was working on that would raise money for missions. (Just the other day, I took a top off an empty detergent bottle and thought that Joyce would want that for some kind of craft project.) 

There were calls to our house when someone was in need.  I'm sure many hours were spent on the phone organizing various outreach opportunities.

Even after moving from the area, it was so great to drop by the house for a visit.  I am so glad that God put us on the same path for that precious time.

We are praying for you during the days ahead, and that God will bring all those wonderful, funny memories to bring you comfort until we see her again.

Michelle, I am so sorry to hear of Nannie's passing.  She has suffered greatly. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing.  We worked closely together on Missions-related activities at Highland Springs United Methodist Church while I was secretary/treasurer there from 1993-2001.  May God bless her family with peace during this difficult time.

Dear Brenda and family,

There is a lonesomeness after the death of one's mother, but we want you to know that your friends are thinking of you and sympathizing with you in this time of your great loss.  We will never forget the friendliness and kindness your mother extended to all.  She was loved by all who knew her.

We hope that time will ease the sorrow of your recent losses.

May she rest in peace!  My thoughts and prayer are with her family.

Nanny I am going to miss you. I have grown close to you more and more. You are and were an angel to everyone that you became to know. You were the ROCK of the family. I enjoyed the drive to carolina with you a few months ago. Kristie, Michelle, Scott, Brenda and Wayne always keep her memories alive and live your lives the way she lived hers and you will always be close to her.

To Wayne, Sean and Chris,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Grandma! Even though,her and I seemed to not see eye to eye on a lot of things, the one thing we did agree upon was the Grandchild we share together,her Great-Gran-Daughter, Cheyenne. Joyce, you will be missed by so very many especially, Cheyenne. As I will tell her..YOU are now an Angel watching over her. You will be sorely missed, Joyce!!!

Wayne, I'm saddened to hear of your Mothers passing, She was and is an awesome lady of God, She will be missed by so many that loved her. God be with you all as I am..

To the Family of Mrs. Cobb.  May God give you comfort and peace in your time of sorrow.  Mrs. Cobb was the rock of this Scottie Farms neighborhood. Rest in knowing she is now receiving her crowns in Heaven for all the care and love for others she so selflessly gave to her neighbors and kept this neighborhood safe and showed her Christlike love she shared here to all who would accept her caring devotion to us. I wish I had helped her more.

I've known Joyce for over over 20 years. She was such a lovely woman and friend.  No. she was more than a friend, she was part of our family. I'm going to miss her. She worked so hard for the Church and I know that she is now  looking down at us smiling because she is with the the Lord.

To my dear friend and "adopted" cousin.  I will miss you deeply and will always  appreciate everything you did for me during the years we have known each other.  To the family, may God give you peace in knowing she was always there to help someone.  She truly deserved the "Acts of Kindness" award she received from Channel 12.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

In addition to the many hours Joyce worked at the church, she and Bunny helped many, many people throughout the Highland Springs community. Whether it was preparing food for the workers at the annual community clean-up day, or tending the needs of a sick or elderly neighbor.
As we grieve the loss of a person who meant so much to so many, may we find peace in the knowledge that she is now resting with her Master.

Bunny, Joyce was a wonderful woman, and friend. I'm glad I got to know her while in Highland Springs. She was a shepherd of the Lord!  Bless you.
