JACKSON, Karen Lynn, 57, of Henrico, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Mechanicsville. She was an avid animal lover and was a member of the SPCA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ila Mae Farrington Bryant; and her stepson, John Jackson Jr.. She is survived by her husband, John Jackson Sr.; father, W. W. Smith; daughters, Melissa Hurley (Howard Jr.), Savannah Nguyen, Missy Estes, and Jenny Elder; grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua, Christine, Ashley, Seth, Annabelle, Meredith, and MaryBeth; brothers, Larry and Billy; and sister, Jean. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Nelsen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23231, where a chapel service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. The family asks that contributions be made to your local SPCA.
