Kaye P. Stanley

STANLEY, Kaye P., 79, of Glen Allen, passed away on September 20. She was born on August 18, 1939 to the late Garnett and Hazel Poole. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, James E. Stanley. Kaye went to MCV nursing school for one year, worked as a Henrico County School bus driver for many years and then later returned to school at J. Sargeant Reynolds to finish her Registered Nursing degree in 1987. Kaye retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after 17 years. Kaye was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church in Sandston, VA. Kaye was on the decorating committee for ACCA Shrine Center for several years. She was also a Sweetheart of the Legion of Honor and the Glen Allen Shrine Club. She is survived by her sister, Marion Wingo (Tandy); children, Steve Stanley (Mena), Becky Lawson (Charles), Vicky Martin (Mike); grandchildren, Corey Stanley (Mary), Kayleigh and Paden Lawson, Tanner and Kinsey Martin; great grandchildren, Rylee Ramsey and Maddison Stanley; many nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond VA 23231. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. the following day at the funeral home with a burial to follow at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Virginia at 2235 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA 23230.
