She graduated from James Madison University and was a retired school teacher with the King William County Public Schools. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crossword/word search puzzles and loved her girls and grandchildren, always attending their various celebrations and sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Strickland and Mary Strickland Timberlake and is survived by her husband, James C. “Skeeter” Mann; children, Michelle “Missy” Mann Sutterfield (Stephen), Cameron Mann Alarcon (Mike) and Alicia Mann Brooks (Jim); grandchildren, Blake and Chloe Sutterfield, Cy Brooks, Kyle Brooks (Hollie), Amber Brooks, Trevor and Taylor Alarcon; great-grandchildren, Haeley, Richard, Summer, Kylie and Autumn; and brothers, Norris Strickland (Carole) and Edward Earl Strickland.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
In lieu of flowers, James Mann has requested that contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
