EDWARDS, Lonnie C. "Doc," 79, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2016. He was a retired jeweler, member of the Moose Lodge, attended two years of college, enjoyed woodworking, traveling and loved spending time with his family. After years of working at ER Carpenter and Reynolds Metals Company, Lonnie changed his career path and spent the next 40 years managing Morton's Jewelers and Stonestreet Diamond Shop. Once he retired, he worked part- time at Enterprise Rental, allowing him to spend most of his time at his retirement home in Woodlawn. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Lonnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret R. Edwards; children, Bruce C. Edwards (Donna), Annette E. Walker, Ruth T. Gupton (Andy); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and brother, A. Ray Edwards. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum, from 4 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2016.
