THROCKMORTON, Ralph, entered into eternal rest at his home in Richmond on March 4, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, and the son of the late George Throckmorton Jr. and Josie Lee Throckmorton. He is survived by his spouse, April Crewe-Throckmorton; daughter, Angela Throckmorton; sons, Nicholas Throckmorton and Sean Crewe; one granddaughter, Helena Isabella Bolin; brother, George Edward Throckmorton; sister, Ada Fairly (Walter); aunt, Ruth Armstrong; cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Ralph was a 1964 graduate of Crestwood High School and a graduate of Norfolk State University in the field of electronics, and served in the military as a Military Police Officer. He was employed at the Norfolk Naval Ship Yard and later with Verizon as manager in the field of electronics for 40 years. He was a member of ATM Metro, which later changed its name to Cite, which is an African American employee resource group of Verizon, from 1984 until he retired. He served as Scholarship Chairperson for over 20-plus years and was a member of the CITE-Va. Board of Directors. His hobbies were watching the Dallas Cowboys play football, flying remote control airplanes and going to the shooting range. Visitation will be at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231, Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral services will be held on March 13, 2019, at 10 a.m.
