She was a computer analyst for 35 years for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Ed” Shown, mother, Erma Nippert and daughter-in-law, Tammy Tanner and is survived by her sons, David Tanner (Caelon), Harold Tanner and Randy Shown, grandson, Nathan Tanner and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
Interment will take place at a later date at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
