He served in the U. S. Army during WW II in the Pacific Theatre earning the WW II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan and was district manager for Federal Mogul from 1948-1987. He was an active member of New Bridge Baptist Church, past board member of Settler’s Ridge and a master wood craftsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Cora Allmond; first wife, Marie Allmond; and ten siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry S. Allmond; stepdaughters, Lee P. Fisher (Ken) and Gay Stephens; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Arzie and Helen Jeter.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at New Bridge Baptist Church, 5701 Elko Road, Sandston, VA 23150 where a Celebration of Life service will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Bridge Baptist Church.
