She was a speech language pathologist with the New Kent School System. She had a double master’s degree in education and speech language pathology. She enjoyed gardening, painting and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lorin Mead and is survived by her children, Jonathan Michael Mead and Lauren Elizabeth Mead; grandchildren, Jonah Michael Mead Corcoran, Kaelyn Helena Mead Corcoran and Charlie Rose Mead Corcoran; siblings, Robert Clune and Kenneth Clune; and her beloved dog, Lupin.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 22, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics Virginia.
