Thomas "Edward" Doyle

Edward was born in Emporia (Greensville County) on March 9, 1945 to the late Thomas Monroe Doyle and Virginia Louise Newsome Doyle.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by loving and devoted wife, Glenda Mae Doyle; and son, Baby Boy Doyle.

Left to cherish his memory are his dog, Buddy; daughter, Sherry Mattox (Marty Mattox); son, Thomas Christopher Doyle (Mechelle Getchell); three step-sons; grandchildren, Trenton Pegeas, Christian Gray, Ryan Doyle, Riley Doyle, Devin Copeland, Taylor Harrell, Brandon Brown, Tiffany Coyle, Amber Blanchard, Andrew Blanchard, Heather Arnold; siblings, Patricia Stainback, Priscilla Gaines, Bobby Doyle; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Edward proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969 and worked in construction until his retirement. He enjoyed the simple things in life and spent his free time outside in the sun tending to his garden with his best friend, "Buddy", by his side.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231. A graveside service service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 1 p.m. in Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, Virginia 23150.
