Age 66, of Smithfield, passed away on April 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Goff Scott; father Walter Palmer Scott Sr. and mother Verna L. Scott . Walter is survived by his daughter, Laura and her husband Homer Marsh; son, William Scott; granddaughter, Katelyn Gregory; sister Sarah Scott Leber; brother-in-law Charles Lee Leber Sr.; and many nephews and neices.
Walter was a millwright at Local 1402 for 43 years and serviced on the Executive Board for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Walter also enjoyed raising and hunting Brittanys and Coonhounds. A visitation will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231 on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Nelsen Funeral Home Reception Center, 4660 South Laburnum Avenue.
