Willie P. Tyree, Jr.

Willie was born January 1, 1950 to the late Willie Pleasant Tyree and Margaret Saunders Tyree. He graduated from John Marshall High School where he was a member of the Cadet Corps and continued his education earning a Bachelor's Degree from University of Richmond. Willie was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and worked as a substitute teacher at Lee Davis High School as well as a stocker at Winn Dixie. His greatest passions were his coin collections, baseball, and eating. Willie also enjoyed drawing, watching television, and going for car rides. Although he didn't drive himself, he could navigate the city better than a modern GPS system.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Barbara Ann Perry, and his devoted cousin, Margaret Goswick.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 12 noon with Rev. Howard Germany officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
