Dave was the loving father of Ron (Donna) and Melissa Claus. Dear stepfather of Darrin (Delores) and Mike (Shayna). He was a cherished uncle to Christina (Leroy) and Lindsay (Dave), and a proud grandfather to Darrin Jr., Michael (Valerie), and Evan. Dave was also a loving great-grandfather to Ethan and Emily, and a special great-uncle to Taylor, Alton, Carter, and Ryley. Predeceased by his sister Elizabeth. He will also be missed by his beloved cat, Oreo.
Dave will be remembered for his exemplary work ethic throughout his many years at Fleet Industries and later through his own business, Claus Hydraulics. He will also be fondly remembered for his deep love of family and history, and for his colourful comments that brought laughter to those around him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, with burial to follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow at The Legion (228 S. Mill St., Ridgeway).
