Allan was born on October 20, 1927, in Milford, Michigan, to the late Milton and and Nettie Jacob. He graduated from Rochester High School, Class of 1946. Allan was truly a jack of all trades. He built a successful career in mechanical and electrical engineering while maintaining a lifelong curiosity for learning and innovation. Allan was known for his exemplary woodworking skills, his ability to fix anything around the house, and his keen interest in keeping up with new technology. He also enjoyed working in his yard, traveling, and nurturing a love for automobiles.
Allan was a devoted member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, his faith was evident to all who knew him. His warm heart and giving nature touched many lives, and he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather,great grandfather, and friend.
Allan is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite Jacob; his daughter Janna Jacob; his grandchildren, Dawn (Wes) Smith, and Tina (Chris) Ichenberg, ; and his great-grandchildren, Kyle Ichenberg, Taylor Ichenberg,and Jake Ichenberg. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Doug Marshall, Christopher Marshall, David (Beverly) Marshall, and Beth Marshall. Allan was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Jacob, and his son, Allan Craig Jacob.
A memorial service for Allan will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 620 Romeo Rd, Rochester, Michigan 48307.
