She was born the daughter of John and Sandra Metzelburg on December 28th, 1972 in Rochester. April married Carmelo Hernandez Jr. on July 16, 1999.
April was a past president of the Pontiac Board of Education and currently a Trustee. She also had a passion for rescuing dogs, owning Semper Fidelis Dog Rescue.
April is survived by her husband Carmelo, children Xavier and Jordan, along with her mother Sandra Metzelburg and brother John Metzelburg. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives.
