Calhoun was born Yu Shu Ting in Dingbian China on June 18, 2002 and lovingly adopted by their parents Larry Koenig and Nancy Oeswein. They have lived in New York, Delaware, and Los Angelos, but grew up primarily in Rochester Michigan. Calhoun graduated from Stoney Creek High School, class of 2020 and was attending Wayne State University, studying Arts Education.
Calhoun was passionate about telling great stories, and loved film, theatre, literature, art, philosophy. They were an accomplished actor, singer, dancer, scuba diver, writer, painter/multi-media artist, and pianist. Their happiest times were spent either with friends or building a character for film. They have appeared in over 60 films and TV shows, as well as commercials and over 20 plays. They are revered as one of the Michigan film industry's top actors. They were named an IMDb top 40 Asian Actress to watch for in Hollywood. But above all, they were known for being kind, wise, funny, beautiful, and authentic.
Calhoun is survived by their parents and beloved little brother Carter Koenig.
