Carl Mr. Paczki Eugene Richardson

RICHARDSON, Carl Eugene, “aka Mr. Paczki”, age 77, of Rochester, died January 22, 2016. Carl was born on February 14, 1938 in Bristol, TN, son of the late Claude and Edna (nee Guinn) Richardson. He had graduated from Pontiac Northern High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve. A longtime employee of Farmer Jack’s, Carl was the Vice President & Director of in-store bakeries for many years until his retirement. He was nationally known in the allied baking industry, where he consulted and created the marketing program for Paczki sales. He travelled the country educating suppliers and bakeries alike. Carl also served as Vice President & Director, as well as a mentor, to Price Chopper Supermarkets in New York. Most recently, he was a consultant to Holiday Market in Royal Oak. Carl prided himself as a “manager of people, places and things” and excelled in mentoring others, where he guided, taught and directed many over the course of his career. Carl had served as the president of the Metro Detroit Bakers Association. He is survived by: wife Cindy Richardson; children Claudia (Larry) Tusset, Norman F. Z. Richardson, Eva (Gary) Morin, Amy Hanes and Carrie (David) McEachin; grandchildren Haley, Brad, Emily, Ryan, Sydney, Alex and Sophia; sisters Larkie Jackson and Iris Adler; and “adopted daughter” Rene (Dennis) Koss. Preceded in death by former wife Marian, brother Jim and sister Joyce. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment at Van Hoosen Jones-Stony Creek Cemetery.
