Born in Marlette, Michigan, Charlotte grew up in Detroit and graduated from Denby High School. In 1958 she married the love of her life, James Trombley, with whom she shared many wonderful years until his passing in 1991.
Charlotte dedicated much of her life to service, working as a secretary at C J Edwards and Beaumont Hospital. She was deeply involved in her Lutheran church, where she not only volunteered and worked, but also shared her beautiful voice as part of the church choir.
Charlotte found joy in crafting. She loved cross-stitching, scrapbooking, flower arranging and sewing, always creating beautiful pieces that reflected her warm and caring nature. She loved cooking and a holiday was not complete without her homemade rolls and pies.
Charlotte was easily loved and throughout her journey she made many friends, never losing touch with her oldest friends. She loved to travel with friends, whether it was up north, down to Florida, or on a cruise to a more exotic destination.
Charlotte is survived by her loving children, Cheryl (Allen) Schmandt and Rick (Kim) Trombley; her cherished grandchildren, Jim Trombley, Emily Trombley and Brandon (Eileen) Schmandt; and her adored great-grandchildren Arlo, and Roy. She will also be deeply missed by Baby Sister, Cathy (the late Butch) Fitzgerald, sister-in-law Janice (Mike) Bayer and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on February 25, 2025, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester Hills, MI, 48307, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM. Services will be followed by a luncheon to celebrate Charlotte’s life.
