Chrystl was born in Detroit on August 3, 1945. She graduated from Utica High School and later earned her Associates of Science Degree from Detroit College of Business. On June 12,1965, she married the late James C. Porter.
Chrystl's life unfolded with diverse careers, reflecting her wide range of interests. She was an active member of United Methodist Women, a Camp Fire leader, Boy Scouts enthusiast, and dedicated to Sunday School and Methodist Youth. Chrystl's zest for life was evident in her love for gardening, travels, quilting, and reading stories. Her "Big Time" flowers, home remodeling, and cherished moments with her children and grandchildren brought her vast joy.
She is survived by her loving children Wendy (Dan) Champoux and Yale (Karen) Porter, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Kalena (Jacob) Isaacson, Alexa (Andrew) Brinning, and Brendan Champoux. Great-Grandchildren Maxwell, Laureline, Easton, and Luke. Chrystl is also survived by her sisters, Lynette (Jim) Fraley and Adriane (Ivan) Lohn, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service for Chrystl will be held at a later date.
