To the Moss family;

We are always saddened by hearing of a loved one's passing.  As an integral part of a larger family it hurts every time we find another member called to be with the Father in heaven.  Dan Moss was a beacon in a sea of faces at St. Frances Dr Sales, everyone knew of Dan Moss, he had that glowing face and dazzling smile throughout his years at St Frances as well as into his professional career.  I knew Dan as associated with Jim, but these two brothers often appeared at many events in tandem.  

One was never far from the other and they always had each others back.  These are memories from the DeSales days.  In later years Dan would join his   
biological brother along with several DeSales brothers and celebrate the year at the Gentlemen's luncheon at Union Street.  I can still see Dan smiling holding his beer laughing and smiling as he would always be found.  

The Brehler family is sad to hear of the loss for the Moss family and we send our sincere prayers and thoughts as you pass through this experience.  We are sorry for your loss but we do hold hope for your family coming together and bonding during this process.  Ken & Lynn Brehler

Such a tough loss! Always considered Dan as a surrogate 
older brother. He helped me learn how to play sports, how to be a paper boy, and once 
even let me sit in the "chair" in the den on Praire to watch Big Time Wrasslin. I always enjoyed the competition between Dan and Jim on the athletic fields(and driveways and backyards), it was fierce, but afterwards there was a lot of love. Dan was very proud of all of you and comfortable wig his place in the family. He had a plan, launched a career, found a good soulmate, became a good father, and lived a good life. It is unfortunate that this good man leaves with a few chips left on the table, but he leaves us as Be better people for having known him. He,and all the Moss's will always and constantly be in my thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts are so heavy with the loss of a WONDERFUL uncle.  We are so grateful for the special memories we shared with Uncle Dan, especially our "birthday weekends" at your house and our yearly family vacations up north.  Uncle Dan always made his nieces and nephews feel so special, greeting us with a big smile and an even bigger hug...he was always there.  We recently got to enjoy an impromptu evening with Uncle Dan playing Tigers trivia.  Of course he knew all the answers as well as being able to recite the stats from the 1968 season...if only there was a bonus round of what songs topped the charts that year, he would have known that too. So very sorry for the loss of our cousin Dan. I am sorry for all of you (and me). However, I am so thankful for our childhood memories we shared, along with all the rest as we aged. Thinking back, I remember Dan going to Papa Mo's house for lunch while attending St. Francis de Sales. I'd go somedays and we would joke about Papa Mo's hard butter, his evaporating whiskey jug, and talk about Mrs. Belke who lived upstairs...we could hear her creaking around, but we never saw the woman. Papa Mo would watch Jeopardy and asked for help. We never could come up with the answers unless the category was MUSIC and Dan would put the contestants to shame. 
Dan loved being with family, especially his own. Whatever family function happened, you knew you'd see Dan ... so loyal. 
Dan loved talking about the past and  I am sure he is reliving some of it with Johnny Hopshaw as we celebrate his life. God speed and God bless, Duff

I'm so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dan will be missed by everyone. I will especially remember how welcoming he was to me when I first started coming around. Always calling me by name and shaking my hand!  I will miss talking sports, complaining about Leyland, and whichever Detroit team was struggling! I will especially miss getting together for St. Patrick's Day! He would always be decked out for the holiday!  Ill cherish the memories and time I got to spend with him. My dad also sends his condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys! If you ever need anything we are here for you!

Dan was a great guy!!   You could tell the love he had for his girls by the way he spoke about them!!!   We are thinking of you with heavy hearts.

As difficult as Thursday was, I'm so glad we were all there together to say our goodbyes to one of the greatest uncles anyone could ask for. So many fun memories, from holidays, vacations, my first trip to Disney, and so many more....we'll miss you greatly, Uncle Dan! Lots of love to Aunt Shelly, Lauren and Liz.

My Heart goes out to all of you, Dan was a wonderful person, kind and loving. He was a real good friend for years and I was blessed to have had him in my life for so many reasons. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

Dear Moss Family,  "Danny Boy" Moss (Mom Linsell always called him Danny Boy) will be so missed and remembered. Dan was a FAMILY MAN ... God bless him and his dear family.   My most recent memory is sitting next to him at Holy Trinity this past March for brother Tom's Memorial Mass and then Nemo's for the 'after glow'. Dan and I had quiet time at the bar toasting Tom Moss. We laughed, we cried and had our usual fun reminiscing.  I didn't know that would be our last meeting, but it was very special.  
One personal memory for me as a cousin-in-law, was at my Dad's funeral mass ten years ago ~ seeing Dan running in last minute (red faced and cute) saying he just found out about my Dad's passing when he arrived at work that morning ~ yet he drove from Troy to Dearborn to make my Dad's funeral mass that morning!
