

David was born the son of Richard and Carrie (Cady) Jobe on April 26, 1948 in Bay City, Michigan. He graduated from Bay City Central High School, class of 1966 and earned his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan at Dearborn. David married Noralee Anderson on August 23, 1969 in Bay City Michigan. David and Noralee raised their two children in Shelby Township. David had a successful career as an engineer in aerodynamics at General Motors for 32 years.
David was a clever problem solver, builder, and avid tinkerer in both his professional and personal life, developing ingenious devices ranging from automotive surface-area scanners to homemade baby monitors. He and Noralee traveled many places including Europe, South America, Central America, Canada, Mexico, and all 50 states. David was a member of the Paint Creek Center for the Arts, enjoyed volunteering at the Detroit Zoo, and took up gardening in his later years.
David is survived by his loving wife Noralee of 53 years; his sons Dylan and Spencer (Caroline) Jobe; grandson Grover Jobe; brother Richard Jobe; step-brother Gerry Surine; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents; sister JoAnne Clark and step-brother John Surine.
David’s family will welcome all to a memorial gathering on Friday November 4, 2022 at 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m.at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
