She was born on September 14, 1945, in Arkansas to William and Wilhelmena Barton.
Liz found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved flowers and gardening, cooking for her family, and spending quiet moments relaxing, napping, or watching television. Above all, she cherished time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
A devoted member of North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, Liz was actively involved in the children's ministry youth at church and lived her faith through service and dedication to her church community.
Liz worked for many years with Michigan Bell, where she spent much of her professional life. Later, she continued her work in the cafeteria at Clarkston Public Schools, where she enjoyed serving and connecting with others.
She is survived by her loving children, Beth Stringer and Lee (Heather) Stringer; her cherished grandchildren, Spencer, Morgan, Braeden, and Kason; her brother, Larry Barton; and many extended members of the Barton family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, 3889 N. Squirrel Road, Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Liz’s honor are appreciated to North Auburn Hills Baptist Church.
