Gilbert Joseph Cousineau

GILBERT JOSEPH COUSINEAU, age 90, of Macomb, died January 10, 2018. Gilbert was born on February 7, 1927 in Detroit, son of the late Horace and Olive Marie (Major) Cousineau. He is survived by: his children Kevin Cousineau, Kathy (Ian) Donald, and Scott (Melissa) Cousineau; grandchildren Christopher Cousineau, Connor Cousineau, Colin Cousineau, Kristen Bloom-Rosberg, Sean Donald, Daniel Cousineau, Andrew Cousineau, Justin Cousineau, and Jonathan Cousineau; great-grandchildren Claire and Kate Bloom and Sawyer Rosberg; a sister, Jeanette Rioux and a brother Richard Cousineau. Also survived by his former wife and life long friend Helen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children Mark and Keith Cousineau, as well as three brothers, Stanley, David and Roland. Gilbert served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and retired from the Birmingham Post Office following 32 years of service. He enjoyed old movies, geography and enjoyed speaking French. Funeral Service will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Fr. Jack Baker officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 3 p.m. to the time of service. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
