Kent was born the son of Donald and Elsie (Allen) Stiles in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on January 9, 1946. Kent graduated high school and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma for college where he met his future wife, Rose Marie Lanick and they received their bachelor degrees in the first graduating class of Oral Roberts University. Rose Marie and Kent married on December 28th, 1968. Kent continued his education, earning his master’s degree in mathematics from University of Waterloo in Ontario. Kent moved his family to Sudbury, Canada, later to East Lansing, and eventually settled in Rochester, Michigan where he and Rose Marie have raised their family since the late 1980’s. Kent had a career in computer systems first with Inco Limited, then his own consulting business, and finally for EDS until retirement in 1999.
Kent had a passion for theology, gardening, and studying the bible.
Kent is survived by his children David (Laura) Stiles and Andrew (Lorraine) Stiles; grandchildren Victor, Dominic, Grant, Clarissa and Arianna; and siblings Ann Stiles, Lorraine (Garry) Lawrence, and Majorie Coros. Kent was predeceased by his wife Rose Marie Stiles and his parents.
