OPALACH, Irene J., age 90, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, died peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2012, with her family by her side; she was born April 9, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Lottie and John Pawelec, and third of four daughters. On June 8, 1946, she married the love of her life, the late Alfred Opalach, before having two children of her own. Irene worked as a secretary for the Utica Community Schools for 20 years, before spending her retirement as a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren; Dearest mother of Gary (Kathleen) Opalach and Susan (Gordon) Fraser; loving grandmother of Jeffry (Brooke) Opalach, Jillian Opalach, Matthew (Danielle) Fraser and Craig Fraser; sister of Joann Voelker, Dolores Schreur and the late Jean Ludwig.
