

Isabelle Simon, 91 of Birmingham Michigan died on May 3, 2014. She was born March 18, 1923 in Ferniegair, Scotland to Isabella and Joseph Campbell. She is the last surviving child of her family. Alex Campbell, George Campbell, John Campbell, David Campbell, Euphemia Campbell Ellingwood, Jean Campbell Zimmerman, and Elizabeth Campbell Goode preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children Laurie (Thomas) Cunnington, Terrie (Charles) White, Timothy (Anna) Simon, Susan (Leroy) Mead, and Kyle Southern. Her son Albert Simon and son in law Douglas Southern preceded her in death. She has 15 grandchildren, William Cunnington, Patrick Cunnington, Suzannah Simon, Christopher Simon, Melissa Quirk, Charles White, Timothy Simon, Nathan Simon, Conner Simon, RuthAnn Simon, Jason Mead, Joseph Mead, Anthony Mead, Jennifer Doerrige, Rebecca Olfert and 17 great grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Detroit Business School. Through her life she was charitable and kind to all with a twinkle in her eye and an easy laugh. She will be remembered for her valor, fortitude and most of all her love for God. She was a songwriter who wrote “God Gave Us This Country” and a writer who was finishing her fourth book upon her death.
She will be missed deeply by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who honor her by modeling their life after hers with honor, strength, courage and love for God and Country.
Services will be held 10:00A.M. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Rochester Hills Baptist Church 3300 South Livernois, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48307. The burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
