Ivy Marie Mitchell, age 76, of Rochester Hills, passed away on October 18, 2022. She was born in Detroit on July 28, 1946. Ivy “Marie” graduated from Rochester High School and went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Education from Oakland University. She would spend her career as a teacher for Lake Orion Schools. Ivy “Marie” was married to Clyde William Mitchell on January 1, 1973.
Ivy “Marie” is survived by her children, Debbie Schenk, Barry Mitchell, Cheryl (John) Moore, Claudine (Jon) Nast, and Carsten (Molly) Mitchell; her grandchildren, Harly Schenk, Colton Moore, Jane Nast, and great-grandaughter, Alyssa Schenk; and her siblings, Henri (Peggy) Brenton and Diane (Todd) Zygmontowicz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5-8 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI 48307. A funeral service will be on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11 AM, with gathering beginning at 10 AM, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI 48307.
