James Alan Ferguson

JAMES ALAN FERGUSON, age 83, of Shelby Township, died December 21, 2017. James was born on February 22, 1934 in Detroit. He is survived by: wife Margie Ferguson, children Scott Ferguson, Stephanie Ferguson, Daryl Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, and Lisa Floyd; grandchildren Travis, Tyler, Luke, Matthew, Madeline and Sam. Also survived by step children Debra, Cari, Pamela and David; 10 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren. James was a well known insurance agent in the Detroit area and had worked for AAA, John Hancock, Action Insurance and, most recently, Morris Insurance Agency. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as pursuing his passion for baseball. James coached baseball for 50 years in the Farmington Hills area where he coached Summer Ball, Travel Ball, and Little League. James also enjoyed caring for his flower garden, his yard and his Koi fish ponds. He also enjoyed all things outdoors and traveling across the United States. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 6377 Orion Rd, Rochester Hills, MI, Pastor Mark Cizauskas officiating. Interment at Van Hoosen Jones Stoney Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester.
