“I am the Resurrection and the Life; he that believeth in Me, although he be dead, shall live; and everyone that liveth and believeth in Me, shall never die”
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 13th 2014 at St. John Fisher Chapel 3665 Walton Boulevard, Auburn Hills Michigan for Jean Frances Page, with Fr. Jerry Brzezinski officiating. The deceased died on Friday, November 28, 2014 at home surrounded by her children.
The deceased was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 20, 1925, the youngest of 6 children of Finley McNeil and Margaret (Holton) Gleason.
The highest tribute that can be paid any woman, “She was a good mother” can be truthfully said of the deceased. Home meant everything to her and her whole life was one of unselfish devotion to her family. The example of her Christian life will long remain a treasured memory in the hearts of her children; while with the many whose privilege it was to regard her as a friend, her name will be associated with all that is sincere, noble and kind hearted. She graduated from St. Camillus School of Nursing Nazareth College in 1946 and loved her profession with a special devotion.
She married Robert Henry Page on October 2, 1948 in Kalamazoo. “Dutch and Sheena” had a wonderful life together and were great partners raising a family, traveling and playing bridge later in their life. Jean loved her career at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and also her time working at Meadow Brook Music Festival where she was able to enjoy her love of music including classical music and opera especially. She enjoyed traveling “up north” to Leelanau County to Driftwood Cottage and enjoyed many beautiful sunsets in Good Harbor.
Jean was pre-deceased by her devoted husband “Bob” on April 26th 2001 and by her eldest son, “Ron” on December 24,2003.
The deceased is survived by her 4 children, Martha Ryan of Lake Leelanau, Kerry Kornelis (Gary) of Empire, Dan Page (Eve Ann) of Grosse Pte. and Tom Page of Rochester Hills; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. Jean made a special family calendar to remember each and every birthday and anniversary. This is a very loving memory of Jean because she cherished and enjoyed every one of her relatives and family and wanted them to know how much she loved each of them, however near or far. Jean also loved her several canine companions over the years and especially missed her faithful friend, Bandit.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Humane Society or to the Leelanau Conservancy
