To the Coyle Family,
My much belated condolences to all of you. I met Joe in 1968. I don’t remember why but the two of us got into a fight at the gravel dock in Corunna; the fight was soon forgotten and for a number of our youthful years, we were the best of friends. He joined my family on a short holiday to State College Pennsylvania where he dared me to follow him to the top of a water tower. He was fearless and so up we went, he leading the way with his blazing smile. I spent some time with him at his family’s home in Detroit where I had occasion to meet the Archbishop. Like Joe, his family were all very kind and I’m so very sorry for their loss.

i remember joe was one of the last people i spoke to while taking a last walk down muirland in summer 69 when we moved,i can still remember the sound of his voice..its nice to hear he also got into music.i bet he sounded great.although 54 isnt an extremely long time,its not a bad run..and we got to grow up in a pretty cool time..owen

From the Stacy family to the Coyle family, our very deepest condolences to you all.  It is with great and endearing fondness that I recall the times I spent with the Coyle family in the early 70ies.  I remember the Coyle family gatherings on Muirland, and especially at the cottage in Corunna Canada, when Joe and Katy, as the ‘youngsters'…were always ready for action! Whether it was swimming, or walking to the city center, they were adorable and I was smitten! 
I recall many an evening singalongs with Mr. Coyle playing his ukulele…or was it a banjo?…and MargaretMaryMadelineMaloney singing and dancing alongside him...It was a wonderful time I shall always cherish! I feel very blessed to have shared a part of my life with your family…
I always felt loved.

RIP, Joe.  He was one of the funniest and caring persons I have ever met.  There was not a mean bone in his body and I will miss him dearly.

I am immensely fortunate to have known Joseph. He was a true, dear friend, and a quality individual. I am a better person, and have lived a more fulfilling life, for having known Joe. My recollections of our childhood experiences at Gesu grade school, of camping in northern Michigan, and of playing the songs of our youth on our guitars, are precious gems, forever embedded in my mind.  Since Joseph's return to Heaven, I now pull those gems out, and fondly gaze upon them with tremendous appreciation. To the Coyle family, from the Schrot family, you are all very close in every thought and prayer.

Rest in Peace Joe, I will miss your funny jokes. Amanda you are in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.

I have not been in touch with the Coyle family for 40 some yrs., but was so saddened to hear of the death of Joe. I remember him well as a cute, young boy at Gesu. My sincere condolences, & prayers are with you all.

We lived next door to the Coyles growing up and I have good memories of Joe and his exotic zoo across the fence. He had his own discount animal rescue from the local pet shop. May God's Grace be with you all.

We did not know Joe, but were friends with his parents, Margaret Mary and John. Our prayers and sympathy are with you, Margaret Mary...one never wants to outlive their child.  We think of you often and the many times that John made us hot dogs to enjoy in your lovely garden.  We have not heard from you for some time and pray you are in good health. I'm glad to have known Joe. He found me a job, when I was in desperate ways. That job led to a new field of work, that I am still enjoying. He was a good hearted man and always meant well. Will miss you!
