Joyce A. "Joy" Coons

COONS, Joyce A. “Joy”, 83 of Auburn Hills (formerly Dryden), passed away March 4, 2016. She was born in Detroit, MI. on 5-17-1932. Joy graduated from Rochester High School. She was married to Charles James "Jim" Coons on August 11. Joy worked in the Rochester School System for many years and she was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church. She is survived by her children Chrys (Brenda) Coons of Dryden, Richard (Lesley) Coons of Tampa, FL., Peggy (Daniel) Wells of Brown City, and her daughter in law Cheryl Coons of Rochester; her sister Nancy (Bob) Jaycox of Florida; her grandchildren Chad (Kelli) Coons of South Carolina, Carla (Tim) Kolzow of North Carolina, Brent (Brittany) Coons of Florida, Shane Coons of Tampa, FL., Geena, Kory and Danyelle of Brown City; and her great grandchildren Crew and Maci Coons, Evelyn and Timothy Kolzow, and Miles Coons. She is predeceased by her husband Charles James “Jim” Coons and her son Dennis Coons. Visitation will be held Monday, March 7th, 2016 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI. There will be a short visitation Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W.
