Joyce Ileen Pruett

PRUETT, Joyce Ilene (Bigger), age 87, of Oxford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Rochester, Michigan on March 4, 1929, later graduating from the original Rochester High School. She married her late husband Freddie J. Pruett on October 14, 1950. She was an active member of the Lioness and the D.A.V.

She almost never missed a game when her beloved Tiger’s were on TV, and a trip to Comerica Park last year fulfilled a wish she had had since Tiger Stadium was replaced. She was frequently found playing bingo or a penny slot machine during the off-season.

Joyce was not defined by her hobbies, however; she was defined as Mom, Nana, Grandma Joyce, and the other affectionate names people gave her. She was loving and tolerant to all, family, friend or stranger and she was always there for her family, extended family and countless friends.

Mother of David J. (Valeria) Pruett, Diane L. (Michael) Plouhar and the late Debora Ileen Pruett; and Grandmother of Heather and Jerome Plouhar. Visitation 2 – 8 PM Monday, May 9, 2016 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr., in downtown Rochester. Funeral Service 11 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the funeral home.
