For the family and friends of Dr. Li, Keyu,
"Remember,  that even a short life,
 casts a long shadow".

I just got to know today that Dr. Li passed away when I was traveling in Chongqing, China where her home town is. I am very shocked by this news and feel really sad about the loss of such a young and beautiful life. I got to know Dr. Li in 1998 when I was attending Oakland University. I will always remember her smile. May Dr. Li Rest In Peace. 

I am so sad to hear these news. I was in the search committee that hired Keyu to Oakland. A very sharp mind and strong personality.  We were very happy to have her in the school for her great intellectual contributions and as a role model to other women faculty and students. My deepest sympathies to the family. 

Dr. Li was my adviser from 2012 to 2015. I am really shocked to hear about her untimely demise. She was compassionate, loving,  gracious, and a real beneficent soul. She will truly be missed. My heartfelt condolence to Gina. 

Once I knew a teacher,
Who’d chant material-mechanics like a preacher !

Covering chapters, from page to page while having fun,
Proving facts of material where it all begun !

Sifting, reading, penning papers galore,
A solitary marcher with mundane chores !

Meeting, helping as she went,
Only few understood her real intent !

Compassion, loving and gracious was her name,
For her, ‘twas all in game !

Integrity and truthiness, a straight shooter ,  
She was, indeed a trooper !

High and low, one thing that matter,
Always worrying about her precious daughter !

As she grows, she learns many more ,
But she is gone, she will never know !

We say Good Bye, Dr. Li ,
In our heart, you will live in eternity !


I am deeply saddened to hear about Keyu's passing away at such a young age. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

We are shocked and surprised by the early passing of Keyu. My sincere condolences to her family for their loss. I will never forget the tenacious and at times semi-controversial character of her. I am sure everyone at Oakland University shares my fond memories of her. She will certainly be missed.

We are all shocked and saddened to hear of Keyu's passing.  My sincere condolences to her daughter and family.

I'm shocked and in deep sorrow for Keyu’s early passing.  She was a such wonderful colleague and friend, very bright and intelligent, very kind, worked hard and always thoughtful for others. But most important, she loved her family deeply and so proud of Gina. Her smiles and laughs were infectious. I remember her at a party somehow get a group of friends drawing and discussing mechanical problems of cars at a dinner table. She lived a full life. May she rest in everlasting peace.
