Larry Owen Chamberlain

Larry Owen Chamberlain, son of Cecelia and Bud Chamberlain of Leslie, Michigan passed away on Oct 20, 2014 at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife, Jane (Good) Chamberlain, daughters, Mary Catherine (Alex Collery) and Anna Marie ( Dave Luptak), and 4 grandsons, Owen, Ethan, Joshua and Larry. Larry is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Dolores Arnold, Robert, Jeanne Newberry, Peggy, and Richard along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was born in Lansing, Michigan and raised in Leslie, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University before joining the United States Army in 1966, serving in Vietnam. After graduating from Wayne State University, Larry built successful careers at Michigan Bell/Ameritech and American Express Financial.

In addition to his roles as husband and father, Larry was active in his community and church, serving as a band booster, a member of the American Legion, and supporting Habitat for Humanity - Oakland County. He was particularly devoted to supporting Hurricane Katrina disaster recovery through Habitat for Humanity - Oakland County

An avid stamp collector and history aficionado, Larry enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends at the lake. His kindness, generosity, and quirky sense of humor will be missed by all.
