Liren Lin

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Liren Lin, aged 92, of Auburn Hills, MI, who departed from us on March 21, 2024. Born in Canton, China, on September 26, 1931, Liren embarked on a remarkable journey that touched the lives of many.

Liren's he graduated from Jiangsu University and Jiangsu University School of Medicine with a BS and MD in September 1954. In April 1959, he joined hands in marriage with Shuchu Chen, forming a partnership that endured the test of time.

A distinguished career in Ophthalmology followed, with notable contributions at Shanghai First People’s Hospital, Oakland University, and the University of Michigan. His dedication to the field earned him recognition as a member of the esteemed Chinese Ophthalmological Society.

Beyond his professional achievements, Liren enjoyed photography, listening to music, and travel.

Liren leaves behind a legacy cherished by his children, Song Lin and Elaine Lin; grandchildren, Tom Lin and James Lin; and siblings, Lijua Lin and Liru Lin.

To honor Liren's life, a visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24th, beginning at 1 pm at 322 West University Drive, Rochester, MI, 48307, followed by a funeral service at 4 pm.
