Lou was born on January 27, 1928 to Louis and Matilda Schleicher in Detroit, Michigan. Lou served in the army in World War II and upon his return home, he met the love of his life, JoAnn. They married on September 1, 1951 and together, they raised three beloved sons: David, Glenn and James. Lou was an outstanding engineer who was always tinkering and he never met a problem he couldn’t solve. He started his own company, Tech-Line Engineering, that provided designs and machines to the automotive industry.
Louis will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love for telling jokes never waned. He enjoyed playing cards and taught many card lovers how to play his favorite game of euchre. He loved woodcarving and left a legacy of beautiful and artistic woodwork that his family will always cherish.
Lou is survived by his sons David (Janice) Schleicher, Glenn (Nancy) Schleicher and James (Lillie) Schleicher; grandchildren Craig, Hobie, Erik, Melissa and Emily and eight great-grandchildren. Lou was predeceased by his beloved wife JoAnn and siblings Dawn and LouEtta.
Lou always loved a good party. There will be a celebration of his life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 11:00am at Golden Eagle Restaurant in Rochester.
