PROPST, Marcella “Marcie”, age 86, of Rochester passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Marcie was born on July 11, 1932 in Rector, Arkansas and graduated from Detroit High School of Commerce in 1950. She was very proud of her service to the city of Rochester Hills where she was administrative assistant to the mayor of Avon Township and later the Rochester Hills Fire Department until her retirement in 1990. Marcie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochester. She also enjoyed bowling, was an elite speller having won numerous competitions. Additionally, she loved animals and rescued many. But, most of all, she loved spending time with her family; she will be dearly missed.
Beloved mom of Sandi Benson, Michael (Lisa) Propst, and Joni Propst. Dearest grandma of Stephanie Benson, Daniela Propst, Samantha Benson, Joshua Propst, and Nicole Propst. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Verle Propst in 2015. Also preceded in death by her father Lester Adams, mother Opal Ward and step father Paul Ward. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018, 11 a.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, from 10 am until time of service. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery.
