
COON, Mary Jane, age 87, born in New Brunswick, NJ on January 31, 1923, died peacefully at home on October 11, 2010; loving wife of Daniel Burt Coon for 67 years; loving mother of Michelle (Edward) Denston; loving grandmother of Brent (Kim) Denston and Danielle (Jason) Dymond; great-grandmother of Steven, Brianna, Michael, Nicole, Christopher, Alexandria, Trevor and Nate; sister of Elizabeth Morrison and the late George Robert Morrison; she was an executive secretary for 50 years; she worked at Jacksonville & Vero Beach Naval Air Stations during WWII while her husband was a U.S. Marine in the South Pacific; lived in Kansas City and worked at Lake City Ordnance & Union Wire Rope Corp. until 1956, when she moved to the southeastern Michigan area to care for her mother. She then worked for many years for American Tobacco in Royal Oak, going to Pontiac General Hospital & retiring from Pontiac General Hospital in 1990. She was an accomplished violinist and seamstress; she loved to travel and her favorite places being Vero Beach, Florida, Gulf Shores, Alabama, Hawaii and Montana. Memorial service 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W.
