I didn't know Matthew had died.  I didn't even know he was sick.  We were work friends when he worked at Magna in the GTA and lived in Holland Landing.  We went out for lunch sometimes or had drinks after work.  

I was calling him thinking we were over due for a catch up call when I found out he had passed. I immediately felt the loss of a warm, sincere genuine person.  When we spoke it was always an immediate connection - as if no time had passed. Those connections are very special. I just wanted to write and say I miss him and even though we weren't as in close contact when he moved to Rochester.  I really valued his frank ready energy and special bravado and his sincerity conveyed through his one of kind deep voice - my heart goes out to his family.

A shadow crossed my heart,.  I just learned of your loss,  my condolences to your family.

This is one of colleague of Mathew Anthony of Magnapowertrain and I am come from China. I was very happy worked with Mathew in last 3 years at Magnapowertrain and very impressive on his leadership and behavior. I was very shocked when I get the news of his passing and felt very sad when recall the time we spend in Asia. Unfortunately it is ture and he left us . I wish the family of Mathew can out of this woefully time of his pass away and all the best.

We are all shocked by Mathews passing. He was a great person and amazing friend. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

The last time we met for dinner only a month ago I told him that he meant so much to me, gave him a big hug and told him that I loved him as a brother. That was the last conversation I had with Mathew, and I am happy to know that I had the chance to tell him how much he meant to me. I always thought that we will stay friends for life and that we could share all our stories for many years to come. You will truly be missed. My condolences to his wonderful family.

All the love and prayers that life can give I hope are showered down on this family. I was not lucky enough to know Mathew, but I knew his Dad well. Colin is a man that just by knowing him you learn to be a better person. Reading messages here it's clear Mathew was the same kind of blessing. So sorry for the loss. RIP

When we first moved into our home next door to the Anthony's, I was home alone one night with my 6 month old and the power went out. We were living out of boxes, I had no idea what to do and was all alone. I immediately grabbed the baby and ran over to my new neighbor's house. Mathew greeted us at the door warmly and invited us in - even offered me a glass of wine! I will never forget the kindness that this family has shown us, and we hope to repay the favor during this difficult time. You are in our prayers and we are here if there is anything we can do for you!

I spent time with Matthew as a child when he lived in Wales, my mum describes the afternoon she found us playing in the coal shed both covered in coal dust. I remember lots of laughter and his smiling face. Can't believe he is gone so soon. Sending love to his family and Jen and Colin.

It is with a heavy heart I send my deepest sympathy and love to you all at this sorrowful time. I have known Mathew since he was nine and shared in many milestones in his life, from his school days in Aurora, his beautiful marriage to Cherie in Wales, the birth of his precious children, Dylan and Rhian of whom he was so very proud. I knew Mathew only as a fellow mentor for the Adambots, but I was impressed by his intelligence, quiet intensity, and straightforward but respectful manner.  He set a wonderful example for students and mentors alike.  I'm very sorry for this loss to his family and friends.

I shared many of life's ups and downs with Mathew over these many years, although it was certainly harder to keep in touch after I had moved to Australia so I'm glad we managed to connect again in July this year. I am so sorry for his family that he is gone. Cheri, Dylan and Rhian, and Colin and Jennifer, my deepest condolences. 

Mathew never worried too much about conforming to society's norms, he pushed the boundaries and got the most out of every day. A life shorter than many, yet fuller than most, that was my friend, Mathew.

I first met Mathew when he was 17 years old and he came to my house on his motorcycle.  He was often at my house with my nephew, Brent Foster.

When he hugs you - its full, genuine and done well.  And my sense is that he did his best to do everything he did, well.

I'm grateful to have reconnected with him this past year and to have been gifted time with Mathew,Dylan, Rhian and Cheri and say 'hi' to his mum and dad again.

Not too many of us ever know how much influence we've had in the world and on the people we've crossed paths with.  I think Mathew  experienced some of that knowing this past year.
