Matthew was born in Virginia, Minnesota on February 8, 1920.
He was married to the late Lucille Marie Dente on September 14, 1946.
Matthew had a long career as a carpenter and finished cabinet maker. He was also a proud lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for over fifty five years.
Matthew had a deep devotion to his Catholic faith. He served as an usher, sacristan, and an eucharistic minister with Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
