Michael was born the son of Joseph and Celeste (Esper) Caleel in Detroit, Michigan on December 31, 1967. Michael graduated from Southfield-Lathrop High School, class of 1986 and earned two bachelor’s degrees from Wayne State University. Michael had a career as a technical writer with General Dynamic Corporation. He was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.
Mike loved his family and friends. He enjoyed watches, clocks, and old cars, and was the family historian. He will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his son Sam Caleel; Sam’s mother Donna Caleel; father Joseph Caleel; sister Beth (Mike) Akerley; Aunt Annette Majka; cousin, but with the bond of a brother, Bob (Kim) Manning; and cousins Matt Majka, Alaina Manning, and Lindsey Manning. Mike was predeceased by his mother Celeste Caleel.
A visitation will be held on Thursday January 23rd, 2025 from 3pm until 8pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 24, 2025 at 11am (10:30 instate) at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, located at 771 Old Perch Road in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Interment will be at Van Hoosen Jones Cemetery in Rochester Hills.
