Nicholas Lawrence Smith

SMITH, Nicholas Lawrence, age 28, of Oakland Township, Michigan, passed away on November 28, 2017. He was born in Rochester Hills on November 1, 1989. Nick graduated from Lutheran High School Northwest and later received his Associates Degree in Business from Oakland Community College. He married Amber Marie Steffes on June 28, 2013. Nick worked for the Rochester Elevator, Zimmer’s Sales and Service and most recently, Frontier Distributing. He spent as much time as possible outdoors, always having fun on the water, riding motorcycles or snowmobiling in the UP. Loving husband of Amber; faithful owner of his K-9 companion, Winston; son of Steven and Gloria Smith; brother of Ryan (Margaret), Jeremy (Alyssa) and Stephanie; uncle of Taylor and Amy Kane; grandson of Lawrence and Viola Smith, Gordon and the late Gertrude Scholz; son in-law of Dawn and Dan Fitzgerald and the late Kevin Steffes; brother in-law of Leah Larkin, Kayla Cornett and Elise Cornett. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1011 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester; the family will receive guests at church from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
