

COX, Patricia Grace Hunter, age 84, of Rochester, died June 25, 2015. Patricia was born on May 13, 1931 in Detroit,daughter of the late George and Barbara Lillian (nee Patterson) Hunter. She graduated from Royal Oak High School and then attended Michigan State College (University) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She married Arthur Roy Cox on September 29, 1956 and he preceded her in death a short time earlier on May 11, 2015. Patricia was an elementary education teacher for the Royal Oak School District. She enjoyed playing Bridge, family vacations, puzzles, and being with her children. Known as Patty, Patrish and Patrick by her loving husband Art, Pat had a wonderful sense of humor, and was really good at knowing what her kids and the neighbors were up to! She had a sweet personality and was loved for her truly genuine warmth and kindness. Patricia is survived by her children James (Lisa) Cox, Susan Fisher, Sarah (Michael) Cox Bennion, and Andrew Cox, grandchildren Benjamin Cox, Nicholas Cox, Nathan Cox, Matthew Fisher, Robert Fisher, April Miller, Mike Bennion, Destinee Bennion Molzahn, Brodie Bennion, Kolby Bennion, Brittnee Harrison, Bailee Bennion and Arthur Hunter Bennion. She is also survived by her nieces, Marilyn Kay (Doug) Neff and Ann Louise Nelkin. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her sisters Francis Plumtree and Barbara Swearingen, as well as a brother, Donald Hunter. A Memorial Service will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester, Rev. Donald Quigley officiating. The inurnment of both Patricia and Arthur will immediately follow at Mt. Avon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 7, from 2 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
