Renato was born the son of Eliseo and Arsenia (Sanpedro) Jose in Bulacan, Philippines on January 13, 1956. Renato married Milagros Mendoza on June 7, 1989, and they raised their family in Rochester, Michigan. Renato had a career with auto suppliers, retiring in 2015. He was member of Christ, the Light Catholic Church!
Renato enjoyed cooking, watching sports, and capturing every life moment on film. Despite his quiet presence, his love resonated in the care he provided for those around him. His dishes made him the star of every family gathering and bridged traditional Filipino culture with today’s generation. Nothing made him prouder than his grandsons Liam, Cade, and Mason. Known affectionately as “Papi,” he would always be present at every sporting event and milestone with a camera in hand and a smile on his face. His humor and loving energy will be missed dearly.
Renato is survived by his loving wife Milagros; children Ryan Jose and Meganrita (Michael) Cagalingan; grandchildren Michael Liem, Matthew Kade; and step-grandson Mason; sisters Jacinta (Jorge), Isabel, Teresita (Domingo), Josephina (Jovenal), and Priscila (Pedro); brothers Manuel (Lualhati) and Edgar (Gemma); as well as many nieces and nephews. Renato was predeceased by his parents and brothers Eliseo Jr. and Roberto.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday October 24, 2025, at 10am (9:30 visitation) at Christ, Our Light! Catholic Church, located at 3077 Glouchester Drive in Troy, Michigan.
