Richard was a man of many passions. In his prime, he was a scratch golfer whose skill and dedication to the game were admired and envied by many. He was also a devoted outdoorsman and a talented woodworker. He enjoyed activities such as fishing, hunting, and building model airplanes. A lifelong sports enthusiast and gifted storyteller, Richard had a quick wit and ability to bring laughter to those around him. Above all, he cherished his family and treasured his moments with loved ones.
He is survived by his brother Kenneth (Cynthia) Ostroske; beloved children Christina (Ronald) Lemming and Richard (Jennifer) Ostroske; cherished grandchildren Daniel Duffy, Brendan (Josie) Lemming, Jack Ostroske, and Tony Ostroske; and great-grandson Walker Duffy. Richard was preceded in death by his loving parents, Leonard and Wanda Ostroske.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 24, at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 280 E. Square Lake Rd., Troy, MI, 48085, with instate at 9:30 AM.
Burial will take place at Guardian Angel Cemetery, 4701 N Rochester Rd., Rochester, MI 48306.
Memorial contributions in Richard’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
