Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Beaver; his daughter, Kelly Beaver; his son, Andrew Beaver and daughter-in-law, Yayhar Beaver; and his cherished grandchildren, Haeli, Haelena, Haelynn, and Haelah. He was the rock of his family, a source of strength, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Rick’s distinguished career was centered around information technology, with over 30 years dedicated to General Motors-20 years as a project-based technology consultant and 10 years as an employee. His expertise and commitment contributed to the company’s innovation and growth, and he was respected by colleagues for his knowledge and integrity.
Outside of work, Rick’s passion for music was ever-present. He played guitar as a hobby and performed in rock ’n’ roll bands in his youth, later becoming a trivia expert in all musical genres and classic films. His love for music and movies brought joy to family gatherings and inspired those around him.
Rick treasured time with his family, especially the vacations they took together when his children were young. He created lasting memories on trips to Northport and Traverse City, Michigan; Sandusky, Ohio; Boston, Massachusetts; Rodanthe, North Carolina; Sedona, Arizona; Orlando, Florida; and San Antonio, Texas. In retirement, Rick and Pat enjoyed relaxing at the Grand Mayan resorts in Mexico with extended family, and he embraced the adventure of traveling overseas to Italy, Australia, India, South Korea, and Thailand.
A hardworking man, Rick also found joy in reading, gardening, and cheering on his favorite sports teams -- Go Red Wings, Go Tigers! He lived a life full of curiosity, kindness, and generosity.
Rick will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, dedication, and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
To honor Rick Beaver's wishes, there will be no formal services. He wanted his friends and family to cherish their memories of him privately, in their own way. The family is grateful for your love and support.
Rick’s life was a gift to all who knew him. While his passing was sudden and unexpected, his legacy lives on in the love and memories we share. In honor of Rick and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, a cause close to our hearts. This organization dedicates 100% of general donations directly to advancing critical research to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, a condition that has deeply affected our family. Your generous support will help turn hope into progress and keep Rick’s spirit alive through the gift of giving.
Donations can be made online at curealz.org.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Family of Rick
